Richard Butcher, who was released by County earlier this month, has re-joined League Two rivals Lincoln City.

Butcher began his Football League career with the Imps in 2002 after a successful spell in non-league with Kettering Town.

He moved on to Oldham Athletic in 2005 and then Peterborough United in 2006 before making the switch to Meadow Lane.

The midfielder has agreed a two-year deal with Peter Jackson's side effective from 1 July 2009, despite interest from elsewhere.

Butcher made 88 appearances for County after signing from Peterborough United in July 2007, scoring 20 goals.

Another ex-County player has been on the move today, goalkeeper Tim Sandercombe has joined Mansfield Town on a one-year deal.

He made just one appearance in County colours after joining in the summer of 2007 and was released from his contract at the start of the 08/09 season.
