Notts County chairman John Armstrong-Holmes today denied reports that assistant-manager David Kevan is set to join relegated Crewe Alexandra.

Kevan worked alongside former County boss Gudjon Thordarson a few years ago at Stoke City and reports have suggested that they are about to be reunited at Gresty Road.

But Armstrong-Holmes said: "We have had no approach from Crewe for Dave Kevan and I would certainly expect a call if they were interested in him because he is under contract to Notts County.

"Having said that, there's no point in Crewe contacting us because Dave is going no-where. He and Ian McParland have unfinished business at Meadow Lane."
