Notts County have made three new signings to date this summer, so nottscountyfc.co.uk caught up with Assistant Manager Dave Kevan to get a feel for what the new boys will bring to the County squad.

Darlington's Ricky Ravenhill, Barnet's Neal Bishop and Kettering's Craig Westcarr have all joined County for next season and Kevan believes all three will prove to be valuable additions to the squad.

Ricky Ravenhill, Central Midfielder

"Ricky brings a wealth of experience with him. He has been at a team in-and-around the playoffs over the last couple of years, so he knows what it takes and he has a winning mentality.

"We're confident he will bring not only a bit of knowhow and knowledge to the midfield, but also some devilment and be hard to play against.

"He can get in the faces of the opposition and break things down, but he also has the ability to get about the pitch and pass the ball as well."

Neal Bishop, Central Midfielder

"For starters Neal is 6ft and he knows how to play that central midfield role, both with and without the ball.

"He is more than capable of retaining possession and that is a good asset because of how we want to play.

"At 27 he is arguably coming into his prime and over the last few seasons he has made the step-up from non-league and established himself as a very good player in the League."

Craig Westcarr, Winger/Forward

"Craig improves our attacking options, which we recognised was very important to do.

"The Gaffer knows him well from the past at Forest and he did particularly well in Kettering's cup run last season.

"He has tremendous delivery on set plays and he can play anywhere across the top, so he is going to be a good player to have around for us."
