Dave Kevan believes Notts County can be very happy with their movement in the transfer market this week.

County made their first summer signings by snapping up Darlington's Ricky Ravenhill, Barnet's Neal Bishop and Kettering's Craig Westcarr.

Kevan has also admitted he is surprised - yet delighted - that players have committed themselves at this early stage of the close-season.

"It has been a very hectic week but we're delighted with the outcome of signing all three players," he said.

"I will be honest, I am surprised that the players have committed so early. I felt we might have to wait a little bit longer for the three to commit.

"After initial talks it would seem the players were very happy with what they heard and also had their own thoughts about the club, the Manager and his staff.

"All three were players we had monitored and were never far from our thoughts towards the end of the season.

"I think the Gaffer deserves great credit for attracting them and getting the deals done so quickly."

After landing the trio County will now look to home in on their other transfer targets, but the Assistant Manager believes a little more patience may be required.

He said: "From our point of view it is a case of 'so far, so good'.

"We're happy with the business we've done, but we may have to be a little patient now.

"There's still a long way to go before players even think about returning to pre-season training and where they want to be."
