Notts County will be facing up Torquay United next season after the Gulls returned to the Football League yesterday afternoon.

Paul Buckle's side joined Burton Albion in gaining promotion from the Blue Square Premier with a 2-0 playoff final victory over Cambridge United at Wembley.

Chris Hargreaves and Tim Sills got the goals to condemn Cambridge - who had Phil Bolland sent off in the second half - to defeat in the final after their 1-0 loss to Exeter City a year ago.

Torquay were relegated from the League back in 2006/07 - a season where County took six points off the Gulls with a 1-0 victory at Plainmoor and a 5-2 victory at Meadow Lane.

Ex-County player Kevin Nicholson played his part in the victory at left-back while former duo Dan Gleeson and Andy Parkinson featured for Cambridge at Wembley.

We will know the full line-up for next season's League Two once the playoff final between Gillingham and Shrewsbury Town has taken place this forthcoming weekend.
