Michael Johnson has played his last game for Notts County, Ian McParland revealed today.

The defender is hanging his boots up this summer to take up a coaching role in County's youth set-up.

McParland has admitted Johnson won't be involved in tomorrow's final game of the season at Wycombe Wanderers, meaning his appearance in last Saturday's defeat to Dagenham & Redbridge will go down as his last in professional football.

"Jonno won't be involved; we're looking to the future now," revealed McParland.

"Last week against Dagenham was his swansong and we have to move on now.

"Jonno has done well for us and he is looking to the future as well by taking over the kids.

"It is a big job for him and hopefully he will produce players along with Mick Leonard for the first-team in the next few years.

"Jonno himself came through the system here and he will always be remembered for that, and that's what Notts County was all about and we're working to bring that back."

Stephen Hunt is expected to start in defence at Wycombe with McParland still mulling over the decision whether or not to hand the former Southampton trainee a new deal.
