Jonathan Forte will play the final game of his loan spell from Scunthorpe United this weekend and Ian McParland is hoping the striker can end his Magpies career with a bang.

Forte has scored eight goals in seventeen appearances during three months at Meadow Lane.

McParland has praised the impact of the Barbados International during his time wiht County, who hit a first-half hat-trick on his debut against Barnet back in November.

He returned to Glanford Park after being recalled by Nigel Adkins however a deal was struck to bring him back to Meadow Lane in February and he has notched four goals since his return.

Said McParland: "You can't complain about Jonathan's goal tally and he is capable of doing what he has done for us.

"Over a season I think Jonathan has the ability to have scored twenty League goals.

"He has a few rough edges but in general you can look at him and ask the question 'why isn't he in the Scunthorpe team or even in a higher level?'

"He is a good, decent lad as well who has done a good job and we're grateful to Scunthorpe and Nigel Adkins for allowing him to join us."

McParland is remaining tight-lipped on whether or not he would like to see Forte pull on a County strip next season.

"I have not deciding anything yet. He is a Scunthorpe player and I have no idea what they want to do with him," he said.

"He has another year on his contract anyway and I respect the fact he is Scunthorpe's player and it is down to them what they want to do with him."
