Hamshaw A Slight Doubt For County

Posted on: Fri 17 Apr 2009

Matt Hamshaw is a doubt for Notts County's game at Morecambe on Saturday.

The winger has an ankle problem and his fitness will be assessed by County's medical staff ahead of the game.

Said Manager Ian McParland: "Hammy is a doubt for us and we'll have to see how he is. It would be a big miss for us but we're pretty confident he will be fit."

Captain John Thompson is also slight doubt with a lung problem which has been plaguing him for the last few weeks.

The only other player sidelined for County is goalkeeper Russell Hoult after shoulder surgery back in December.

It is hoped he will return to training with the rest of the County squad next week.

He was due to return in March but his progress hasn't been as quick as initially hoped, but he is set to give County a boost by returning to training.
