The Under 12s from Notts County's Centre of Excellence today set off for Ireland as part of our link-up with Lifford AFC.

Last month Centre of Excellence Director Mick Leonard announced that Centres had formed a relationship with Lifford which could see potential stars of the future head to Meadow Lane.

Lifford are the only club from the County Clare League to have produced three schoolboy internationals and County have been given direct access to their youngsters, should County's coaches wish to bring them over to England.

The Under 12s will be playing two games whilst in Ireland and will be taking on a County Clare Select side before returning to Nottingham on Saturday.

Said Leonard: "It will be a terrific experience for the youngsters and I'm sure they will benefit from it.

"When we announced the relationship we had formed with Lifford I expressed a strong desire to take the Under 12s over and I'm delighted we've been able to do it.

"Lifford have been more than welcoming and we sincerely hope this is the first of many visits."
