JT: "I'm Disappointed & Frustrated"
Captain John Thompson has admitted he was angry and frustrated after County's 2-1 defeat at home to Chester City on Saturday.
The Irishman felt after three pleasing displays prior to Saturday's home game County had turned the corner and were looking to build on recent results.
Instead he was left frustrated and was adamant afterwards that Notts must cut the types of mistakes which cost them so dearly.
"Two silly mistakes cost us and we're totally disappointed with ourselves more than anything else," he said.
"I'm angry and frustrated because after good displays against Gillingham, Bournemouth and Lincoln we felt we had turned the corner.
"The lads were all gutted and it was a disappointing result without a doubt.
"They out-battled us fighting for their lives, and that is what got the result for them in the end."
County conceded on the fifteen-minute mark to go a goal down and Ryan Lowe - who later performed heroics in goal for Chester - doubled the visitors' lead moments into the second half.
Thompson feels too often County have given goals away at costly times in games, and also called for that to stop.
He said: "They took the lead against the run of play and we seem to concede goals at very silly times in games.
"That is something we have to stop because it is getting very frustrating and it is costing us.
"We can't keep coming out saying the same things week after week so we know it has to change."
Despite Mike Edwards' late goal and heavy late pressure an equaliser wasn't forthcoming and Thompson admitted chasing a two-goal deficit against a side intent on holding onto their lead was tough.
"At 1-0 we were always in with a great chance but their second goal a few minutes in the second half gave us a mountain to climb," he said.
"We got a late goal and piled some pressure on but it wasn't going in for us, but we had enough chances."
