Hamshaw Fitness Boost For Notts

Posted on: Fri 03 Apr 2009

Matt Hamshaw has handed Notts County a huge fitness boost ahead of Saturday's home game with Chester City.

A dead-leg forced the winger to be replaced at half-time in last Saturday's draw at Lincoln City.

But after resuming full training yesterday Hamshaw is set to retain his place in the team against Chester on Saturday.

"Hammy started training yesterday and that is a massive boost for us because we missed him when he went off last week," said Manager Ian McParland.

The Manager also revealed he has a few other injury concerns going into the game at Meadow Lane.

He said: "Jamie Clapham didn't train last week and he hasn't this week either because of a calf problem.

"He is struggling a wee bit and Michael Johnson has a calf injury too so we'll have to see how they are.

"Stephen Hunt certainly won't make it because his ankle injury hasn't improved enough."

The Scot also revealed that Adam Tann is back in training after missing the week's earlier training sessions with a flu bug.
