Kevan: "Back-To-Back Wins The Target"

Posted on: Mon 30 Mar 2009

Notts County have been challenged by Assistant Manager Dave Kevan to claim back-to-back League wins for the second time this season at Lincoln City tomorrow.

County have not achieved two wins in a row in League Two since the early months of the season against Aldershot Town and Port Vale.

After a welcome win away at Bournemouth last weekend County now have the opportunity to improve that record.

"If we can achieve back-to-back victories, especially for our supporters who follow us away and have been very vocal behind us, it would be fantastic," said Kevan.

"It's a local derby so I'm sure we will take a large following and I hope we can put on a good performance for them."

With local bragging rights at stake Kevan knows only too well that the form book goes out of the window in local derbies.

Kevan and Manager Ian McParland have suffered three defeats against the Imps since joining the management staff at Meadow Lane last season and are determined to put that right this time around.

He said: "We go - as always - into the game in a positive frame of mind off the back of last weekend's good result.

"We know it will be tough at Sincil Bank but it is a game we believe we can do very well in.

"Lincoln have been disappointed with their home form of late but as we all know in local derbies the form book goes out the window.

"We have a hungry group of players in our squad who are determined to finish the season as strongly as possible and we're looking forward to the game."
