Lifeline Quiz Night Is A Hit
Last night's Lifeline Quiz night was - once again - an undoubted success.
The sell-out event of 32 teams equalled to around 200 players and it would be fair to say an enjoyable time was had by all.
The winners for the second year running were 'Exceedingly Good Pies' who racked up a score of 58 from the six rounds.
After claiming back-to-back titles the team announced their retirement from the competition for the next event.
In second place were 'Delroy's Trotters' with 55 points and in third place were 'Trust No-One' with 52 points.
The players' team, which included Kevin Pilkington, Richard Butcher, Jamie Clapham, John Thompson, Gavin Strachan and Ben Fairclough, scored an impressive 44 points.
Attendees were also treated to a Pie & Peas supper as well as the opportunity to win prizes in the raffle.
There was talk on the night of introducing the Quiz Night twice a year due to high demand, although that is to be confirmed.
