Notts Hope To Extend Forte Stay

Posted on: Sat 21 Mar 2009

Notts County hope to learn over the weekend whether or not Jonathan Forte's loan at Meadow Lane will be extended.

The Scunthorpe United striker is currently with County on a temporary basis and has scored seven goals in twelve appearances during two separate month-long loan spells.

County's management staff are keen to keep him at Meadow Lane for another month and expect to be in dialogue with Scunthorpe Manager Nigel Adkins after tomorrow's game at AFC Bournemouth.

Assistant Manager Dave Kevan said: "We haven't spoken to Nigel yet, but we expect to be in touch over the weekend.

"Jonathan has done really well for us and we're keen to keep him for a bit longer.

"We will learn what Scunthorpe's stance is over the weekend and see what we can do."
