Russell Hoult has today revealed he will have to wait a little while longer to make his Notts County comeback.

It was hoped that the 36-year-old would return from injury this month, but that now looks unlikely.

Hoult underwent shoulder surgery in December and has been on the sidelines ever since.

He went to visit a specialist earlier in the week who told Hoult he is up to four weeks away from making a full return.

Said Hoult: "Realistically I'm four weeks away which is the middle of April now.

"The specialists view was that the shoulder is not quite strong enough yet.

"The worry is if I dive and fall on the shoulder at this stage it has every chance of dislocating and I don't want that to happen.

"We've agreed we can't take that risk because I don't want to suffer long-term damage.

"I was told by the specialist it could be anything up to four weeks, with the four being the maximum."

When Hoult originally underwent surgery he was expected to be back in action during February and he has revealed his frustration at not being able to play.

"It's doing my head in," he said.

"I've had a bad season with injuries and I'm bitterly disappointed.

"If I am out for the full four weeks I'm hoping I can get the last five or six games of the season in.

"For now I just have to keep doing my gym work with the Physio and Fitness Coach and whatever work I can carry out."
