Kevin Pilkington believes tomorrow's game at Bury is a good opportunity for Notts County to test themselves against one of League Two's promotion chasers.

It's the first of four huge tests in the next four games because fixture list has provided County with a number of tough assignments against League Two's promotion hopefuls.

After this weekend's game at third-placed Bury comes a home game with six-placed Bradford and then away games at eighth-placed Darlington and then fourth-placed Shrewsbury.

And Pilkington is relishing the challenge that awaits the Magpies over the next few weeks.

He said: "We have some big games against the teams chasing promotion, and we're looking forward to them.

"It's good for us. We can see where we are at, and hopefully we can come out on top.

"Bury are flying at the moment so it's nice to pit our wits against them this weekend and the same goes for the other teams."

Pilkington returned between the sticks on Tuesday at Macclesfield after a month out with a knee injury and has expressed his delight at returning to action.

"It was good to be back and I enjoyed it on Tuesday," he said.

"It has been a stop-start season for me so to get back on the pitch was good.

"I didn't have too much to do at Macclesfield and long may that sort of defensive display continue.

"We did well to battle back from a goal down with some good grit and determination and we will need more of that in these forthcoming fixtures."
