Ian McParland admitted his team weren't at their best in today's 2-0 defeat at Bury.

Goals from Andy Bishop and Efe Sodje meant County suffered their first defeat in February.

The Scot said afterwards revealed his frustration and admitted he was unhappy with a number of his players.

He said: "We were in it until their second goal (six minutes from time), but we weren't at our best today.

"The ball was like a hot potato at times for us and we didn't win enough headers to get us playing.

"In my opinion seventy percent of my players didn't turn up today and I'm not happy with some of them.

"Yet we came to one of the top teams in our League we were well in it and the best chance we had hit our own player on the line early in the second half.

"Bury are a good team and we weathered the early storm from their early set-plays, and other than that they had nothing and in all honesty there wasn't too much in the game."

McParland felt Notts should have had a free kick for a foul on Myles Weston in the build-up to the opening goal of the game, but was more concerned with the defending which allowed Bury's leading scorer to get a shot in at goal.

"We should have had a free-kick in the corner which led to their first goal certainly," he said.

"But we never defended that opportunity properly and Bishop should have never got away.

"From their point of view they will feel it was a great chip, but it should have been avoided and I'm still trying to figure out how it happened.

"We defended quite well from their set plays until the second goal which was the clincher."
