Captain Mike Edwards' injury sustained in last night's defeat at Rochdale is not too serious, Manager Ian McParland has revealed.

The central defender was replaced in Notts' 3-0 defeat at Spotland just before the half-hour mark after picking up a knock early in the game.

McParland admitted after the game Edwards had suffered a dead leg and he is hopeful that his skipper will be fit enough to face Chesterfield at Meadow Lane on Saturday.

He said: "There's no strain or pull for Mike, it looks like he got a knee in the hamstring and he has a dead leg.

"It isn't too serious and we hope to have him available for Saturday."
