Notts County Lifeline highlighted its importance over the weekend by handing over a £25,000 cheque to the club.

The presentation was the latest in many very welcome contributions to the club coffers from Lifeline - following on from a £40,000 handover in March last year.

Lifeline Co-Ordinator Lynn Lawson handed over the cheque to Vice-Chairman Roy Parker and Commercial Director Sally Brealey at half-time during our home game with Port Vale last Saturday.

Lynn said: "Everyone knows Lifeline has been a crucial source of income for the club and we would like to place on record our thanks to Lifeline members.

"Many of our members have been involved from the start and a number act as agents, and put in a terrific shift to help do their bit for Notts County which just shows what Lifeline is all about.

"Without their help Lifeline wouldn't run as smoothly as it does, and the hard work behind-the-scenes has been fantastic since we re-established Lifeline a few years ago.

"Memberships are currently at a steady level - but we're welcoming new members all the time and I would encourage any supporter who isn't in Lifeline to sign up."

Part of the Lifeline re-establishment has been the introduction of the quarterly newsletters and social functions - the next of which is a Quiz Night in March.
