Notts County Manager Ian McParland has urged his side to 'win it for Jimmy' when they take on Aldershot Town at Meadow Lane tomorrow afternoon.

The Magpies are unbeaten in their last six League games - all of which have been drawn - and McParland believes the stage is set for Notts to claim their first win of the season against the Shots tomorrow.

And he wants his players to win it 'for Jimmy' after the sad news which broke on Thursday that our legendary former Manager passed away aged 86.

"We are overdue a win, but on Saturday it would be so nice to get a win for Jimmy," said the Notts boss.

"The only player in our squad who knew of him is Michael Johnson, as he was a youngster in the youth system when Jimmy was the Gaffer.

"But the other boys don't really know Jimmy, but I will have a few words them before the game and let them know what he was all about - and it would be great to go out there and do it for Jimmy and also get a win for the fans.

"Jimmy I am sure will be up there looking down telling me what I'm doing wrong - that won't ever change!"

The Shots have made an impressive start to the season following their return to the Football League in the summer, and McParland believes Gary Waddock's men will be a real handful.

"Aldershot have made a good start to the season," he said.

"They have lots of energy and enthusiasm in their team and they're a handful.

"We will have to be on our game to win it, and if we are I'm confident we will get a result."
