Tonight is a big night for the Notts County Centre of Excellence, as the Centres are hosting their first training session since the summer relaunch.

After a long but progressive summer of starting from scratch and rebuilding the Centres after its closure in 2006; tonight sees the first training sessions get underway for all age groups.

Assembling a training base and a venue to play the games, recruiting coaches and players and also ploughing through mountains of paperwork - it has been a very busy summer for Centre of Excellence Director Mick Leonard.

And a specially-arranged Parents Evening is also taking place this week to welcome all the players and parents to the Centres, with Chairman John Armstrong-Holmes and the Management Team due to be attendance.

Leonard is excited from the prospect of kicking the season off now, with everything falling nicely into place.

He said: "It is an exciting time - it is sure to be an exciting occasion for everyone.

"A lot of hard work has gone in from an awful lot of people from when I took on the role in June to get us to this stage.

"Now we're at the first training session and the season isn't too far away.

"We've made a lot of progress and we cannot wait to get started."

The new-season for the Centres gets underway on Sunday 18 September.
