Ian McParland has confirmed he will be looking to use the loan system during the season, but only when the time is right.

The Magpies Gaffer used the loan market effectively last season bringing in the likes of Krystian Pearce, Michael Johnson and Russell Hoult at crucial times.

He has landed Derby full-back Jason Beardsley on a six-month loan from local neighbours Derby County already, who has settled quickly adapted to life as a first-team regular at Meadow Lane.

And McParland is keen to use the loan market again.

The transfer window shuts on 1 September for permanent transfers, but the loan market remains open until November.

"We will use the loan system when the time is right, we will have to," said McParland.

"The window shuts at the end of the month, but even afterwards we can still bring the loans in after that.

"We're always looking to improve, but obviously it has to be right for the team and the Club."
