No New Injuries For Hucknall Friendly
Notts County take part in their first pre-season friendly on British soil tonight when they make the short journey to local non-league outfit Hucknall Town (7:30pm).
The Blue Square North outfit, who only avoided relegation last season thanks to Boston United's demotion to the Unibond Premier Division, are managed by former Magpies midfielder Mick Galloway.
Notts have no injury concerns going into the game, with only long-term injury victim Stephen Hunt and goalkeeper Russell Hoult sidelined after Spencer Weir-Daley, Gavin Strachan and Adam Nowland returned to training earlier in the week.
Central defender Mike Edwards will also get his first taste of pre-season action after missing the two friendly fixtures in Austria last week as his wife was due to give birth to their second child.
Assistant Manager Dave Kevan said: "We have no injury worries at all for the game which is pleasing.
"The only two who will be missing are the two long-term lads in Houlty and Hunty.
"Mike Edwards will also be involved after the birth of his second child.
"It is good to have Mike back with us, and our congratulations go to Mike and his wife after the birth of their baby boy yesterday.
"The game is another step towards the new season. Everyone is looking forward to the game tonight which also gives our fans the first chance to see the new squad."
The fixture will be a step up from the friendlies against Olympia Ljubljana and Wacker Burghausen in Austria last week before the two home friendly games against Premiership outfit Stoke City and Championship newboys Nottingham Forest at Meadow Lane next week.
