Boss Makes Decision On One Trialist
Notts County Manager Ian McParland has confirmed he will not be pursuing his interest in one of the three trialists who have spent pre-season with the squad.
McParland has told Matt Richards, who has spent the last three weeks with the squad, that he will not be offering the Gedling Miners Welfare midfielder a permanent contract.
Matt travelled with the squad to Austria last week for the week-long visit to the National Sports Centre in Obertraun, and made substitute appearances in the two friendly fixtures played on foreign soil.
He said: "Matt is a cracking lad and we've enjoyed having him around the place.
"Sadly we won't be offering him anything, but he leaves us with our very best wishes and I would be happy to pass on a glowing recommendation to anyone who asks me about Matt."
When speaking to nottscountyfc.co.uk this morning McParland admitted decisions on fellow trialists Ben Fairclough (Ex-Forest) and Greg Pearson (Bishops Stortford) will be made in the near future.
