Notts County Manager Ian McParland believes tonight's friendly against Wacker Burghausen will be a 'right test' for his squad.
The game at the Magpies' training camp in Obertraun will be second game in three days for McParland's side, who are spending a week at the National Sports Centre in Austria.
And after seeing his players take methods from the training ground into a match situation earlier in the week, he is encouraging more of the same.
He said: "We have another game tonight, and that will be a right test for us.
"I expect the game to be tougher than the one we had on Monday (against Olympia Ljubljana).
"In that game on Monday it was pleasing to see a few things we worked on in training were coming through in patches during the game, so that was good to see and I want to see more of the same.
"The general fitness was good as well, but we still have a bit to do on that front before hopefully peaking on August 9 against Bradford."
Reflecting on the week so far in the Austria, McParland is delighted with every aspect of the trip.
The on-site facilities are of a very high standard - which is why Preston North End, Motherwell, Chelsea's Academy and Plymouth Argyle are all over here during pre-season.
The Magpies squad have been pushed hard in many high-intensity training sessions, and McParland has pleased with what he has seen so far.
"It has been going well - the lads have been working really hard," he said.
"We had our first game on Monday, and it was a good first game for us.
"It was a bit wet out there, but the main thing is we got through the game without any injuries and the lads adapted to the conditions.
"I had a look at two or three players who are with us, so that was also good.
"There were a few naughty tackles from the opposition, and I was delighted with how impeccably our players behaved - they conducted themselves very well."
