Notts County are delighted at the number of companies - and individual supporters - who have already signed up as members of their newly-launched 1862 Club.

The scheme was introduced as a natural follow-on from the 100 Club, which the Magpies operated last season, and gives individuals or companies the chance to buy into three levels of membership.

Ambassador Membership, which involves a one-off payment of £15,000, buys the best seat in the house for life at every home game at Meadow Lane . . . and they can bequeath it to another member of their family.

There are numerous other advantages in the Ambassador package, and two people have already taken up this limited offer.

Gold Membership of the 1862 Club, which is particularly aimed at companies and costs £5,000, is an extensive package that includes 50 seats at selected games throughout the season, the use of an executive box at five matches, and a ground advertising board.

A Silver Membership category also exists, costing £1,000, and membership benefits include 10 hospitality places at Meadow Lane throughout the season, the use of an executive box at two matches, and the opportunity to network with other 1862 Club members at four lunches across the season.

Said Notts Chairman John Armstrong-Holmes: "The 100 Club was set up with the intention of encouraging more companies to get involved at Meadow Lane and hopefully we can build on that initiative with the 1862 Club.

"We felt it was important to create more of a Notts County identity in the title and I have to say that we have been very encouraged by the initial response from the companies approached so far.

"We feel there is a lot of potential to develop a corporate set up within the Football Club that provides an ideal platform for members to do business with each other and it's one of the priorities for our commercial team this season to get the 1862 Club firmly established."
