Live Updates From Meadow Lane

Full Time: Notts County 1-2 Stockport County. Full time here at Meadow Lane, and it is another narrow defeat for the Magpies by the odd goal. Notts had the majority of the second half here, but in the end they couldn't find the goal they were looking for. Look out for our full report and reaction to follow on nottscountyfc.co.uk.

90 Mins + 3: Stockport running the ball in the corners now, time is virtually up for Notts now.

90 Mins + 2: Late chance falls to MacKenzie in the box on his left foot, but he rushes his effort and screws the ball into the stands.

90 Mins: Four minutes of added time here. The second corner is eventually gathered by Logan, and Stockport fans are in full voice.

89 Mins: Notts land their first corner of the half with a minute to go. Won by Dudfield, MacKenzie takes and Weir-Daley's header is deflected over.

88 MIns: Stockport are taking their time now, allowing the clock to tick down when they came. Really though, who can blame them?

87 Mins: The Magpies are continuing to be the side asking the questions, but Stockport are remaining tight at the back and not allowing more than a half-chance to come Notts' way.

85 Mins: Notts break forwards again and Weir-Daley gets a shot in from inside the box, which is again straight at Logan.

83 Mins: Neat footwork and cross by Weir-Daley inside the left-hand-side of the box is just beyond Parkinson at the far post. Time is ticking away here, and you sense lady luck isn't with Notts today.

80 Mins: MacKenzie picked the ball up on the edge of the crowded penalty area following Bastians' free-kick, but his weak effort was straight at Logan.

78 Mins: We're pushing towards the final ten minutes, and it's Notts have the majority of the play.

75 Mins: Stockport make their final two changes, McSweeney and Turnbull on for Pilkington and Poole.

73 Mins: Final change for Notts, straight swap up front. Weir-Daley is on for Hector Sam, who has ran himself into the ground today.

71 MIns: Notts are pushing for the goal now, to be fair it has been pretty much all-Notts this half give-or-take a few attacks from Stockport.

69 Mins: MacKenzie comes close again, and again from outside the box but his low volley is saved by Logan. Crowd are roaring Notts on now as they up the pressure.

68 Mins: Notts hit the woodwork again, this time MacKenzie lines up to cross a free-kick into the box but instead goes for goal, and catching Logan out he clips the crossbar.

66 Mins: Notts come so close to drawing level. A flick-down by Dudfield into the path of Bastians on the edge of the box falls perfectly for the German who is able to lash a thuderous left-foot drive towards goall, but it rebounds off the post.

65 Mins: Free-kick is dangerously fired in towards goal, and a flick from Dicker takes the ball over from just a few yards out. With his back to goal he had little idea just how little he needed to touch the ball on.

64 Mins: Fourth Notts player goes in the book, this time Austin McCann for a foul on Dickinson down the left. His pace looked to have taken him beyond the Scot, but the two collided and Mr Thorpe got his card out again.

62 Mins: Seemed like a foul on Sam on the edge of the box in a Stockport sandwich, but Mr Thorpe felt the frontman dived and booked the Notts No.13 t he fry of the home fans.

60 Mins: Fine goalkeeping by Pilkington denies Poole inside the box with a good reaction stop, and the rebound hit the midfield and went just wide of the far post. Excellent goalkeeping.

59 Mins: Attendance have been confirmed, with 4,210 at Meadow Lane today of which 638 are Stockport fans.

57 Mins: A few stray passes and a few close-call decisions against Notts and the fans are getting frustrated.

55 Mins: Good passing and moving but Notts to work the ball wide twice to allow Parkinson and Dudfield to get right-wing crosses in, but there's no-one on the end of them.

52 Mins: After an initial bright start to the second half, we're not seeing much action at either end and the game has turned into a end-to-end exchange of possession with no end product.

50 Mins: Volley by Smith for the visitors is just over from inside the box. First attack of the half by Stockport.

48 Mins: Notts have started the half brightly, just like the first-half. Ian McParland has obviously called for a higher tempo, with the passing and moving very quick. Bastians' cross found the head of Dudfield but he headed straight at Logan.

46 Mins: Double change for Notts, Branston and Butcher are off, and on come McCann and Silk. Hunt has moved to centre-back, and McCann slots in at full-back while Silk for Butcher is a straight swap.

Half-Time: Notts County 1-2 Stockport County

45 + 2 Mins: Dickinson finds the ball on the edge of the box and lets fly, but Pilkington is equal to the effort with a good block which he gathers at the second attempt.

45 Mins: Three minutes of added time here. Neat play again by Bastians picks out Dudfield in the box, and his inviting cross is palmed away by Logan but there's no-one there to follow up and Rose clears.

44 Mins: Fine ball by MacKenzie picks out Sam's run into the box from deep, but a last-gasp foot in by Tunnicliffe denies him the chance to get on the ball.

42 Mins: Don't think the Referee Mr Thorpe and his Assistants are winning many friends here. Few decisions, certainly the 50/50 ones, have gone in Notts' favour.

40 Mins: MacKenzie's free-kick is cleared, but Notts force a corner which is eventually volleyed over by Parkinson's unfavoured left-foot.

39 Mins: When Bastians gets on the ball, he looks a real threat. He has just won a free-kick on the edge of the box, and is causing Stockport problems.

36 Mins: Stockport look full of confidence now, but there is certainly a long way to go here. Sam, Parkinson and Bastians have all looked exceptionally lively attack-wise.

34 Mins - GOAL - Notts 1-2 Stockport: A short-corner routine sees the visitors take the lead. A short corner to Poole is fizzzed towards the far post and via a flick-on Dickinson was able to turn the ball into the net from a few yards out.

33 Mins: Break by Stockport saw a three-on-one break at one stage, but Elding's shot was blocked by Pilkington and eventually Pearce got involved in the goal-mouth scramble and cleared the ball

30 Mins: Good spell of Notts pressure and some good football too, putting the defence on the back foot. Parkinson and Sam both had shots blocked by the Stockport defence, but the ball continued to fall to Notts players and allow Bastians to twice provide dangerous crosses.

26 Mins: No serious chances since Sam's effort. Stockport look lively on the break, but Notts equally look like scoring when they go forwards.

22 Mins: Free-kick won by Bastians was fired in by MacKenzie, and Pearce was only inches away from marking his 18th birthday with a goal.

21 Mins: Good break by Notts with Butcher picking out MacKenzie on the edge of the box with a neat ball, but unable to get a shot in the ball eventually found Sam inside the 'D' and his low drive was saved by Logan diving low to his right.

18 Mins: Long-range effort from the resulting free-kick from Dickson is hit with some force, but straight down Pilkington's throat and he gathers the ball well with Elding looking to pounce from any mistake from the in-form goalkeeper - which wasn't likely to happen.

17 Mins: Branston has just shown what he is all about with a thundering challenge on Elding. Perhaps that will keep the frontman quiet for a while? Branston goes in the book.

16 Mins: Another long ball over the top released Dickinson clear on goal, but good defending and pressure from Branston slowed the frontman down and a combination of the centre-back and Pilkington was able to deny Elding's strike partner.

15 Mins: Stockport fans have found their voices now, and a few decisions against Notts have got the home faithful a little restless.

13 Mins - GOAL - Notts 1-1 Stockport: The visitors are level with their first shot on target. A long ball forwards was flicked on by Dickinson and into the both of leading scorer Elding clamly slotted the ball beyond Pilkington. A confident finish from the striker, with Branston unimpressed with the defending around him as well as the Assistant Referee not raising his flag.

12 Mins: An early change for Stockport, Captain Gareth Owen has been forced off with an injury and he is replacd Tunnicliffe.

11 Mins: Stockport have really responded at all as of yet, and have put little pressure on Notts. The task for Notts will be to get another goal and really get their noses in front.

8 Mins: What a start for the Magpies, who have started this game brightly. Deserved lead you would say. Home crowd are lifted, and obviously delighted following Notts' first goal of 2008.

7 Mins - GOAL! Notts 1-0 Stockport: Second goal of the season for Stephen Hunt. Towering header from six yards from MacKenzie's corner was into the ground, and beyond Logan. He said in the pre-match press call on Thursday if he had another chance like the one he missed at Hereford he would head it down - and he did. Great start for the Magpies

6 Mins: Second corner for Notts, again won by Bastians and to be taken by MacKenzie.

4 Mins: A misjudgement by Pearce allowed Dickinson to advance towards the edge of the box, but the frontman fired over the bar. Good pressure by Branston to rush the striker to shoot.

3 Mins: No chances yet, but both new boys have been involved already and look impressive. Bastians won the corner early on, while Branston has powered in a header to clear.

3pm - 1 Min: At the second attempt, we're off and underway. Notts kick us off attacking the Kop Stand in the first half. A Notts win a corner after 23 seconds, but Hunt heads MacKenze's corner over the bar. Positive start by Notts.

2:59pm: Pre-match huddle for the Magpies, lets hope for a winning start to New Year at Meadow Lane.

2:55pm: The teams are out on the field now, a warm reception for both sides. Both new signings, Branston and Bastians, have just been introduced to the home fans.

2:50pm: Former legend Don Masson has just been introduced to the crowd. A former legend himself, how Notts would love to have Sir Don in the middle of the field today to produce his superb form of many years ago.

2:45pm: Fifteen minutes to kick-off, and the players are still going through their warm-up routines at both ends. Shooting practise for both sides right now. Branston and Bastians have both recieved good receptions from the Notts faithful.

2:20pm: We have the team news, and Ian McParland has handed debuts to Guy Branston and Felix Bastians. Austin McCann and Lee Canoville drop to the bench, so it could mean Adam Tann moving to right back and Branston slotting in alongside Krystian Pearce at centre-back. Fans will be looking forward to seeing the new duo in action; always adds a bit of excitement to see new players in action for the first time.

2:15pm: Hello and welcome to today's clockwatch as we embark on another important League Two fixture for Notts County. It may well be FA Cup Third Round weekend, but it is League Two action for both Notts and Stockport. Both sides of course bowed out to non-league teams in the earlier rounds.
