Notts County assistant manager John Gannon has been relieved of his duties at Meadow Lane.

Gannon joined the club for the start of the 2006-07 season after spells as the number two at Sheffield United, Mansfield and Chester.

New manager Ian McParland will take the training session with the players tomorrow ahead of his opening match in charge - an away trip to local rivals Mansfield Town.

Notts County would like to thank John for his efforts during his time at Meadow Lane and wish him all the best for the future.
