Muggleton joined the backroom team as Goalkeeping Coach at Meadow Lane in July 2008 after his retirement from professional football.

The 39-year-old former Leicester, Stoke, Chesterfield and Celtic goalkeeper agreed to work with the Magpies' goalkeepers on a part-time basis after leaving Mansfield Town in May 2008.

Muggleton had served County's local rivals for the previous two seasons and stepped up to the role of Player-Assistant Manager in the latter stages of his final season at Field Mill.

With over 600 career appearances to his name Muggleton has enjoyed a long and distinguished career in professional football.

His last clean sheet in professional football, ironically, was recorded in the Stags' goalless draw at Meadow Lane in March 2008.
