Johnson joined the club as a coach in October 2007.

He secured his place in Notts' history when he scored one goal and made the other in the 2-0 Play-off win over Tranmere in their first-ever Wembley appearance in 1990.

Twelve months later he scored twice in the Play-off triumph over Brighton and took his goals tally to 53 in 132 senior appearances before joining Derby County for £1.3million in January 1992.

Johnson also went on to serve the likes of Aston Villa, Celtic and Everton and since retiring as a player he had been working for a charity on a voluntary basis.
