After reaching the initial target of 1,862 members in the summer, Lifeline is now well on the way to reaching the next milestone.

This morning the total membership number stood at 1,880, only 120 away from the new target of 2,000.

Lynn Lawson, Lifeline Co-ordinator, was delighted to reveal the figure.

She said: "We're thrilled to see it go from strength to strength over the past few months.

"And since Craig Short joined we've seen a notable increase, because it's becoming clearer to supporters how important the scheme is to the club.

"Hopefully it won't be long before we can hit this new target - maybe even in time for the 100 Years at Meadow Lane celebrations!"
