Last night's win might have been down to the luck of the Irish, with faraway Notts County fan Raymond Farrell travelling all the way from Enniskillen in Northern Ireland to cheer on his team.
This was his first ever live game even though he has been following the Magpies since the days of Jimmy Sirrel's successful reign.
To thank Raymond for making the long trip to Nottingham, the club treated him to a meal in the 1862 Suite and a fantastic view from the VP section of the Derek Pavis Stand.
Raymond expressed his gratitude at the club's gesture and was delighted to meet Notts County's matchday commentator Colin Slater, all-time leading goal-scorer Les Bradd and former skipper Ian Baraclough.
He said: "It was a midweek game and I had a little time off work so I thought it was the ideal opportunity to finally come to a game.
"I managed to get a good deal on a flight and then here I am.
"Coming over for the first time I thought I'd make it as memorable as I could with the hospitality package and then the club offered it to me at no cost!
"To do that I think it's a tremendous gesture and it's certainly won me a deeper affection for the club.
"I'm definitely going to come back again and I'll hopefully be able to attract the rest of my family to join me in the stands."
He added: "Nowadays you don't seem to hear about these good stories in football and supporters maybe feel that it's them doing all the giving.
"Notts County are a club that are on the up and it could be very easy not to do these sorts of things now because they've got a top management team and they're bringing in quality players that will bring in people anyway.
"This gesture was absolutely lovely and something that I appreciate very much."
Raymond explained that it was County's clamber from the basement division to the top-flight under Jimmy Sirrel that led to his affinity with the club.
"As a young lad growing up, it was all about the likes of Liverpool, Manchester United and Leeds," he explained.
"When I got into my teenage years I had a terrific interest in football but decided not to follow the crowd.
"I decided to keep an eye on Notts when they were climbing up the leagues with Jimmy Sirrel.
"I always watched out for the result but as you'll know there hasn't always been as much TV coverage.
"With the internet it's much easier and I'm always reading the official website to keep up with things.
"I've been looking forward for a long time to seeing the players in person and getting a close look at Hughesy's dance."
The hospitality package has been very popular this season. If you would like to book a place or find out more information, contact Nick Rook on 0115 9557241 or nickrook@nottscountyfc.co.uk.
