'I Didn't Realise It Would Spark A Debate!'

Posted on: Sat 28 Aug 2010

A look back at some of the comments from the last week on the Facebook and Twitter pages...

WATFORD HIGHLIGHTS

The extended highlights on Magpie Player allowed subscribers to praise Stuart Nelson and John Thompson for their performances against Watford.

Joseph Garner: 'Luck was on our side, as was Nelson's keeping, but Watford were ridiculously wasteful.'

Tringad Brothers: 'The last ditch from Thommo is one of the best you'll ever see!'

FULL TIME: WATFORD

Magpie Player subscribers also got to view the post-match reaction from the game, and the responses following the game were all positive.

Will Wright: 'Good result now we want Chelsea, Man Utd, Man City at home and woop 'em'

Martyn Malone: 'Thommo was far better than anyone, Man of the Match for me.'

KAMARAMANJARO

On Twitter, WellyPie wasn't impressed with our puns…

WellyPie: 'PLEASE tell me that pun isn't your own work! Haha!'

100 YEAR 'WHISKY'

A typo in the 100 Year Whisky story, where it was spelt 'Whiskey' led to a debate.

Peter Baylis: 'Whiskey spelt with an "E" is not Scotch Whisky. Only Scottish Whisky is allowed to be spelt without the "E". So, where is this 100 Year Whiskey being produced?'

Lee Tyers: 'Any whiskey that isn't Irish is spelt without an "E", Scotch or otherwise, Irish whiskey is spelt with an "E".'

Peter Baylis: 'I didn't realise it would spark off a debate, about the spelling of whisky. Let's all hope we are having a wee dram at the end of the season, to celebrate winning either promotion or a Cup!!!! COYP.'
