Ah, now you remember that game, yes we were literally five minutes from slipping into the conference.

Indeed so, with a victory needed to ensure league survival, it was imperative to get a head of steam up and get the all important early goal to settle our nerves.

Sadly this wasn't the case and after some powder puff attacking by us, Bury took full control of the game and by the 81st minute they were strolling with a two goal lead.

With Oxford grabbing a late goal to go 2-2 against Leyton Orient, Notts were staring Conference football square on.

So, what happened and how did we survive?

Well, against all odds and with many supporters already streaming away, Dan Martin gave us a glimpse of hope by reducing the deficit to 2-1 with a crisp volley.

And then, in the last minute, the Bury Keeper pulled Chris Palmer down and we got a penalty.

Oh that was good, and who was the Bury keeper? Wait for it... Kasper Schmeichel!

Anyhow Julian Baudet stepped up to score with the spot kick and Notts were safe - just...

So onto Saturday: Bury have lost pace recently and the Notts County Express just keeps a rollin'... My prediction: Notts County 4 Bury 0
