A new season, a new manager - where have we heard that before! Steve Thompson returned to the club, this time without Colin Murphy as he looked to improve on the bottom half finishes in the previous years.
With a new manager arriving, new players also arrived.
Defenders Dan Gleeson, Stephen Hunt, Austin McCann, Alan White, midfielder Matt Somner and strikers Lawrie Dudfield, Jason Lee, Junior Mendes and Tcham N'Toya all arrived.
Overall Notts had a better season with Mike Edwards again being the heart of the defence. The side claimed there first win when Mendes scored to beat Wycombe 1-0.

A week later White was the hero as Notts beat Rochdale with the same scoreline.
An entertaining attacking style of football brought two 3-2 wins against Accrington and Barnet.
Crowds of around 4-5 thousand matched previous seasons, but at least this season fans saw Notts win at Meadow Lane.
The highlight of the league campaign came when Notts played Lincoln City and beat their local rivals 3-1 infront of over 7-thousand fans.
Midfielder Jay Smith and strikers Jason Lee and Lawrie Dudfield did the damage.
After the victory Notts went seven matches without a win.

Low on confidence and heading for another relegation battle the Magpies needed luck to see a change of fortune, and thankfully they got it from an own goal by Grimsby Town player Tom Newey. Smith scored the second in a 2-0 win.
Notts went onto win the next two matches against Boston and Wrexham (thanks to another own goal) as the Magpies reached mid-table.
Arguably the highlight of the season came in the Carling Cup. Notts travelled to London to play Crystal Palace and came back with a 2-1 win thanks to two cracking goals from Dudfield and Martin.
A month later they were drawn away again, this time to face Premiership side Middlesbrough. Striker N'Toya made Boro pay after slack defending and Notts came away with a famous win.
They were finally drawn at home and faced another stern test in Southampton. Nearly 7-thousand Notts fans came down to watch Notts ease aside the Saints in a 2-0 win.
Edwards scoring the first before Lee scored before half-time.
They were drawn at Meadow Lane again for the fourth round, but lost to fellow League Two side Wycombe with 7,395 fans in attendance.
In the FA Cup and JPT Notts were dumped out of the cup comps at the first attempt.
