Were You Part Of Our Record-Breaking Attendance?

18 September 2015

BBC Radio Nottingham’s Colin Slater is appealing for supporters part of a record breaking Meadow Lane crowd to come forward.

It's 60 years since York City beat Notts 1-0 to reach an FA Cup Semi-Final. The gate that day of 47,310 will forever remain a record for the club.

Colin wants to hear from the fans that were there that day to share their memories. He told the OS: “There must be some of our older supporters who have memories of that exceptional day.

“If there are, I’d like to sit down with them next week ahead of the York City fixture so they can share their memories and be interviewed by myself.”

Announcing that Head Of Commercial & Events Richard Cokayne would be offering those supporters 20% off their bookings for the day, Colin finished: “I’ll be asking how old they were at the time, where they stood to watch the match, who accompanied them, whether they were among the many who swarmed on to the pitch at the end? It will be a great way to mark the memory of such a momentous occasion.

"I'll be asking them all this on the microphone in the Wheelers Suite before the game, sharing with your fellow supporters your memories."

If you were a part of that grand day in the club's history, take a look at our commercial packages here and make the most of the 20% offer today!
