Youth Team Beaten By Millers

12 January 2015

Notts County Youth Team lost 3-0 to Rotherham United on Saturday…

The young Magpies went 2-0 down early on and never recovered in a disappointing display.

The team do have a game later this week away at Mansfield Town, where they will be hoping to get back to winning ways.

Head of Academy Coach Mick Halsall told the Official Site: "It was a disappointing result. We were all really looking forward to it, being the first game back, but the three goals we conceded we didn't deal with and we got caught out.

"We conceded twice early on and it was always going to be hard to get something from it after that.

"We felt we could go back into the game, started the second half okay, but never had any real cutting edge throughout the game and again a mistake led to the third goal.

"We will be working on decision making and options on the ball throughout the week and we will go again. We didn't produce enough.

"Thankfully we've got a game on Thursday away at Mansfield where we can hopefully bounceback very quickly.

"To get straight back on the pitch is great for us. We know Mansfield are decent at this level and have done well this season in the cup especially, as they knocked out Aston Villa out, so it will be a difficult game against a confident side."

Halsall has had no reports of any of his squad picking up an injury.
