RIP James 'Jimmy' Jackson

6 March 2013

Notts County were saddened to learn this week of the passing of former player James ‘Jimmy’ Jackson, who had two spells at Meadow Lane during his career.

Jackson made over 120 appearances for Notts, scoring 50 goals, having first played from 1948 to 1953 and then returning for a further three years in 1954 after a spell with Toronto.

The Scotsman first rose to prominence in the 1951.52 season, when he made 11 appearances for Notts, scoring seven goals, as the club finished 15th in Division Two.

Jackson, who was due to turn 82 later this month, sadly passed away on Saturday evening and the club’s thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time.
