Notts Prepare For An ‘Almighty Game’

4 February 2014

Notts County may face a difficult run of Sky Bet League 1 fixtures but manager Shaun Derry says “bring them on”, as his side aims to climb out of the relegation zone this weekend.

Following clashes with high flying outfits Peterborough United, Walsall and Preston North End, Notts now prepare for a stern test against Coventry City at Meadow Lane.

Derry sees this Saturday’s fixture with the Sky Blues as a crucial game, as he feels that the Magpies' home form can guide them to safety in the remaining 16 games.

He said: “The home games will determine where we finish this season.

“It’s going to be horrible and gritty so we’re going to have to roll our sleeves up to try and get three points against another very good team.

“We’ve got a tough bunch of games at the minute, we found ourselves on the end of a spanking last week that didn’t sit well and then we we lost against a very good Preston team.

“Again, we’re leading into a group of games that are going to be difficult but this is the league and it’s difficult as it is.

“Let’s bring them on and I don’t want us to be making excuses.

“We need to put those results behind us and put it to bed and crack on because it’s going to be an almighty game.”
