Notts Ladies Urging Fans To Stay Behind And Support

17 September 2014

Notts fans who attend the Oldham game can watch the game for just £1…

Notts Ladies boss Rick Passmoor and top scorer Jess Clarke hope to see as many fans stay after the Oldham Athletic match on Saturday to cheer them on as they face Chelsea in an important league fixture.

The Lady Pies face the league leaders with just four games left in the season and four points clear of Everton, who are propping up the table.

With just one team being relegated, the match on Saturday evening is vitally important for Notts.

Manager Passmoor told the Official Site: “I hope fans do stay behind and come and view it.

“Especially if you haven’t seen the Ladies in action before. Go and have an orange juice, talk about the men’s game and then come back and watch us.

“It’s a massive game for us. Chelsea are flying high with a big budget and plenty of internationals, but we are confident we can get something from it and cause a surprise.”

Meanwhile England striker Jess Clarke added: “The support this season from the Notts fans have been absolutely fantastic.

“We play some good football and it’s a great opportunity to see what we are all about. I think if a few of them did decide to stay behind and watch, it would give us a massive platform to get that important win.

“It would help us massively and I think the noise that they would create would really spur is on in the game.”

“It will be tough. Chelsea have a strong side and the league table proves that, but I don’t think you can under estimate any team and anyone can beat anyone at this level.

“If we stick to our game plan and do what we do in training, we can get ourselves up in the league. At the moment we’re just lacking a bit of belief and confidence.”

Super Saturday kicks off at 3pm as Notts County welcome Oldham Athletic in the Sky Bet League 1, before the Lady Pies host league leaders Chelsea Ladies in the FA WSL, kicking off at 7:15pm.

If you're going along to the first game of the day, hold onto your ticket and alongside members of The Bench you can gain entry to the ladies game for just £1.

Get behind Notts County and make the club's first ever double header a success with six points for the Magpies.
