Notts County's first signing of the summer is experienced goalkeeper Adam Collin

15 June 2016

The Magpies are delighted to announce our first signing of the summer is 31 year-old shot stopper Adam Collin.

Collin, a vastly experienced goalkeeper who has plied his trade in both the EFL Championship and Scottish Premiership, has penned a two year deal and becomes John Sheridan's first signing since arriving at Meadow Lane at the end of May.

Adam Collin has also played for Newcastle United and Carlisle, and helped Rotherham United gain promotion to the Championship in 2014, playing 37 times in a season that ended with him saving two penalties in a Wembley play off final against Leyton Orient.

In his first interview since joining Notts, the full version which will be available exclusively on Magpie Player HD later today, Adam was extremely happy to be at Meadow Lane, amid interest from other clubs.

"I am delighted to be here. It's another part of my career that I am looking forward to and I am looking forward to getting started."

"I was out of contract at Rotherham and there was a bit of interest from other clubs. But my agent spoke to the manager here [at Notts County] and it was a no brainer."

"I wanted to come in here and be successful here."

Magpies manager John Sheridan is certain Collin's ability and experience will be an asset to Notts County.

"He's a very good goalkeeper. He's got great experience. He's had promotions from this division and he's played at a higher level."

"I'm very pleased to get him, I know other clubs were interested in him but Adam has made the decision to come to us. He will be a really good asset for us".

Collin joins goalkeepers Scott Loach and Kevin Pilkington in boosting our options between the sticks at Notts County.

The players are expected to begin pre-season training for the 2016/17 season on 30th June.
