Notts County Chief Executive Updates Fans on a Number of Issues
It has now been a few weeks since I joined Notts County as Chief Executive, and I feel it is now appropriate, following a period of becoming accustomed with the club, that I update you on a number of issues.
First and foremost, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your loyal, dedicated and continued support throughout what has been a season of instability, uncertainty and considerable change both on and off the pitch.

We have now started the recruitment process for a new manager following Mark Cooper’s departure to Forest Green Rovers. It is absolutely imperative in my view that we get the profile of the person right before discussing names. We will then identify and discuss potential candidates who best fit that profile, whilst also reviewing the impressive list of applicants for the role.
I can assure you that we will undertake a thorough process, whilst recognising the fact that an early appointment is key to allow the new manager maximum time to prepare for the new season.

It is only fair that our players, particularly those out of contract, are informed of our intentions in good time.stWhilst this process continues, I will also finalise the retain list with our experienced coaching staff and we will announce this in advance of the League’s deadline on Saturday 21
Onto other matters, and the situation with regards to the sale of club remains the same. It is my understanding that discussions and negotiations have not progressed as quickly as the owners had previously envisaged. Talks with interested parties do remain ongoing, however, the need to find a genuine party with the right vision, skillset and resources remains their priority. As such it is business as usual for me and my staff until we hear otherwise, and we will continue to prepare for the 2016/17 season as a club would for any other.
Finally, as with any other business in the course of a potential sale, it is not unusual for creditor payments to be extended whilst discussions are ongoing with potential investors. I can confirm that all outstanding liabilities to HMRC were settled prior to the original court date in April and no monies are currently overdue. Football League rules state that clubs failing to meet HMRC payments or football creditor debts on time are automatically temporarily embargoed until such time as these payments are settled. We are currently in the process of scheduling due payments to ensure that the club can re-engage with out of contract players and enhance the squad when the new manager is appointed.
