The club is delighted to welcome new youth team physiotherapist Tom Jenkins, who has arrived at Meadow Lane ahead of the new campaign.
Jenkins, 22, arrives from AFC Bournemouth, where he was part of the backroom staff that helped the Cherries to achieve promotion to the Championship.
The former Bristol University physiotherapy graduate worked with the youth, development and first team squads at the Goldsands Stadium but is excited to be part of the plans here at Meadow Lane.
He is relishing the prospect of working with the Magpies' future talent within the Academy.
Jenkins, on his first day at Meadow Lane, told the official site: “To come to Notts is a promotion for me, it’s a new challenge and I’m excited to solely concentrate on just one team, rather than a large amount of players at Bournemouth.
"I love working within a football club, it’s hard graft when the season is in full swing, but when the teams winning and doing well there is nowhere better.
"I tasted that at Bournemouth and I’m excited to have another successful season here.”
He continued: “It’s going to be great to work one-to-one with some of the up and coming players.
"It will be a great feeling seeing the lads progress through into the first team, knowing you’ve had a bit of input into their success.
“Youth football is all about staying fit, if you can stay injury free, you have more chance of impressing the people that matter and getting to that next level.
"So it’s my role to keep them all fit and give them that opportunity."
Jenkins has had a busy first day at the club, as he gets to grips with a new pre-season schedule.
He is already getting stuck into planning for when the players return.
He said: “We’re going to work them hard, they’ve had around six weeks off now, so it will be about getting them back up to scratch.
"We want to get the best out of them and I’m sure they will want to get the best out of themselves.
“If these players want to make it, then they have got to have talent, but they also have to work hard and will be pushing them all the way.
“The Academy will have a whole new coaching and management team together, so it’s an exciting time for us all.
“With the news the other day about the funding, it shows how ambitious this club is and how well the Academy is run and that it’s going in the right direction.”
Both the youth team and first team are back for pre-season training at the end of the month.
