New Disabled Supporters Association

30 July 2012

A new disabled supporters association has been setup at Meadow Lane...

This is a new association at Notts County Football Club whose aim is to help all supporters who have a disability to have a better experience when visiting Meadow Lane.

Most clubs in the Football league offer facilities and assistance to their disabled supporters and the Notts County Disabled Supporters Association are keen to improve the clubs provision in this sector.

We are also aiming to make sure that the views of disabled supporters are voiced to help improve our club. We would like to invite all disabled supporters and there carers to participate in this new association.

The idea for this began two seasons ago when an idea by Wayne Kirkham was put forward to the club, disabled supporters with a season ticket in the Derek Pavis Stand should have a reserved place like all other supporters.

Previously disabled supporters had to get there early and try to grab a vacant seat, which operated on a first come first served basis, this meant waiting for hours before the game started, exposed to all elements of the weather ,working together with the club the supporters in this area now have reserved seats.

From this improvement we saw that other things could be done to make watching Notts County a better experience for everyone.

Now along with other supporters we are forming an association in which we need your help to make this an even better season for all disabled supporters at Notts County FC.

Objectives of the association:

1: In conjunction with the club we will endeavour to improve the experience of disabled supporters of Notts County Football Club and their Carers.
2: To act as the principal point of contact for all disabled supporters with an interest in Notts County Football Club and to represent these concerns to the club in an effective fashion.
3: To help promote equality and respect for all supporters of Notts County Football Club.
