Midfielder Happy With Development

18 October 2013

Midfielder Greg Tempest believes that he has improved massively as a player since his full Football League debut.

Tempest made his first ever senior start the last time that Notts played Swindon Town at the County Ground in 2012.13.

This season, the 19-year-old has taken greater forward strides, having made six appearances and picked up four caps for Northern Ireland Under-21s.

Tempest told Magpie Player: “I feel like I’ve developed a lot since then, I did alright that game but there was obviously other things that I could’ve done better.

“Now that I look back, I feel like I can do those things, which is a massive step.

“I’m really happy because I can’t believe how much I’ve played to be honest.

“I didn’t expect to have the start I’ve had this season, coming on at Sheffield United and starting the game after.

“And even the Northern Ireland call up, I didn’t expect that so it’s all overwhelming but really good.

“The gaffer and the coaches have played a massive part, they help you day in, day out because we’re young players and it’s good for us.

“I want to keep doing what I’m doing, keep trying to play as many games as possible and help to get the team higher up the table.”

After replacing the injured Alan Sheehan against Crewe Alexandra, Tempest could be in line for a start against Swindon.
