The Youth Team have two games to go until the end of the campaign and their targeting an unbeaten run.
Mick Halsall’s men face Grimsby Town on Saturday for their final away fixture, before ending the season at home against Mansfield Town the following weekend.
The matches give the players two last chances to earn themselves a new deal with the Magpies.
Head of Academy Mick Halsall told The Mag: “Time has passed since our game at Bradford, which was a poor performance and with no game this weekend, we are looking for the lads to bounce back and improve on their performance.
“We have two games to go and it’s important we finish on a high. Our target will be to finish the season unbeaten.
“We’ve had a decent second half of the season, other than the Chesterfield results, so to get two good performances and results to end the campaign is our aim.
“We are always looking to improve individually and collectively.
“It would be nice to get a couple of wins to end, but we are more concerned about the performance and that the lads play the way we know they can.
“In some cases it will the players last couple of chances to impress and earn a new deal.
“You just don’t know with a game or two to go, if they can change people’s opinions or even cement those thoughts. No deals have been finalised yet, so it’s still open.”
