Magpies International Round-Up

8 September 2014

A number of the Magpies squad were in action for their countries the past week…

Goalkeeper Roy Carroll started and played the full game in Northern Ireland away win over Hungary on Sunday.

It was the Irish's first away win in four years and is the perfect start to their Euro 2016 qualifiers.

Meanwhile Mustapha Dumbuya also played the full game for Sierra Leone against Ivory Coast on Saturday in a 2-1 defeat. He is also in line to play on Wednesday against Congo DR.

Youth Team full-back Kyle Symons played twice for the Northern Ireland U19s, drawing 2-2 and beat Iceland 3-1 on Wednesday and Friday, and finally, full-back Cieron Keane is in the squad for the Republic of Ireland for tomorrow's U19 match against Holland.

All four hope to be back in action for the First Team and Youth Team this weekend against Peterborough United and Hartlepool United respectively.

Keep an eye on the Official Site for further updates on all our international players throughout their qualifiers and friendlies this campaign.
