Labadie: Tour Great For Confidence

12 July 2013

Midfielder Joss Labadie feels that the Magpies’ unbeaten tour of Finland has helped to breed confidence in the camp.

Notts completed their third and final overseas encounter with a 2-0 triumph over Finnish top-flight outfit JJK Jyväskylä.

This followed wins against Kemi Kings (3-1) and Tervarit Dream Team (4-1).

All three matches saw the team impress and Labadie hopes that the form can continue into the League 1 campaign, which kicks off on 2 August with a tough away trip to Sheffield United.

“We’ve had three wins out of three and the boys are feeling confident, we’ve played some good stuff and it’s good fitness as well,” he told Magpie Player.

“We’re happy and we’ve returned home undefeated, which is really good and all the boys are feeling confident.

“No disrespect but we’ve been better than the teams we’ve come up against, but we’ve been really professional, gone about our business in the right way and the right manner.

"It’s good to start off with the lesser opponents and then go into the ones like Galatasaray and Ipswich, because we’re building our fitness up now and it will be good to see where we are against teams like that.

“It’s been a good tour and the boys have enjoyed it and hopefully we can take this form into the remaining friendlies and then into the league games.”

Next up for the Magpies is an exciting home clash with Galatasaray. For ticket information, click here.
