Kiwomya Looks For Big Improvements

13 March 2013

Notts County’s full focus in the build-up to this weekend’s game is on producing a much-improved performance, says first team manager Chris Kiwomya.

On Tuesday night, the Magpies were beaten 1-0 by Preston North End, a result which left the team nine points adrift of the Play-Off places.

County were frustrated in the final third and registered only six efforts on goal throughout the 90.

The boss has put talk of the top six to one side and full attention has been placed on gaining a big response against Scunthorpe United on Saturday.

He told the press: “It was disappointing, we had a few players missing through injury and we looked disjointed at times and void in the final third of how to open them up.

“We didn’t have that link between midfield and forward and that’s where we struggled.

“We had been on a good run and it would have been better to continue that, especially with two home games, where we should be getting more points to set us up for the Swindon and Brentford games but that wasn’t to be.

“I’m just looking at the next game and I’m not even looking at the Play-Offs now.

“It’s just about trying to get a win and playing better – that’s the first thing we’ve got to do, then if we close the gap then all the well.”
