Kiwomya Aims To Spoil Rovers' Party

19 April 2013

First team manager Chris Kiwomya believes that Notts County have what it takes to upset Doncaster Rovers’ potential promotion party.

Should AFC Bournemouth and Brentford drop points, Doncaster can not only clinch promotion to the Championship but the npower League 1 title as well.

Rovers are currently top of the pile and a bumper crowd is expected to turn out at the Keepmoat Stadium for Saturday’s clash.

Kiwomya insists that the Magpies will not just be there to make up the numbers, as he targets a strong finish to the campaign.

“I want to try and win back-to-back games and it’s going to be a difficult game, because they’re a big, strong and powerful team," he told the press.

“We’re not exactly the Jolly Green Giants in our team but we can go out there and give a good account of ourselves.

“We did last week and hopefully we can set it up for the Coventry game at home now.

“I want to go out of this season with good performances and good energy, so we can build on that next season.”

He continued: “It’s difficult because you wish it was your team up there [at the top of the league] but we’re not.

“We need to make sure we’re on the front foot and try to get the three points to spoil the party and keep it interesting for the rest of the league.”
